Addiction and Recovery: Fentanyl Presentation

The National Center for Health Statistics (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2023), with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (National Vital Statistics System, 2023), gathers information regarding deaths commonly associated with fatal drug overdoses.

According to the CDC (2023), deaths caused by drug overdoses, specifically those related to fentanyl, have continued to increase significantly since 2014.  In 2021, more than 106,000 people lost their lives to fentanyl overdoses.
